What it does

Rules of origin determine whether a product qualifies for reduced duty rates under a specific trade agreement. POTAL provides the specific criteria including tariff shift rules, value content requirements, and certificate types.
How to use it
Check FTA applicability
First verify an FTA exists between origin and destination via GET /api/v1/fta.
Review origin rules
The rulesOfOrigin field lists criteria like tariff classification change, regional value content, or specific processing.
Verify compliance
Ensure your product meets the listed criteria before claiming preferential rates.
Get certificate type
Check certificateType for the required documentation (self-certification, EUR.1, Form D, etc.).
